Welcome to the Santa Barbara Sailing Club for the 2008 Racing Season.

It’s no secret that the waters around Santa Barbara are a great place to sail. Getting out there however can sometimes be challenging. Since its conception in 1959 the SBSC has fostered a modest venue to get people sailing through the sport of racing. This, the club’s 49th year, continues a great tradition of hosting large and popular two-day regattas, single-day series races, information seminars and socials. Run by its members, the all-volunteer Santa Barbara Sailing Club is a healthy mix of both dedicated experienced sailors and newer beginning sailors and the results speak loudly. Year after year club members post outstanding results in local and regional racing including national and international events. Still, results notwithstanding, the emphasis at the SBSC remains on fun.

Please browse our web site, event days are noted in the calendar, come by the club, get your feet wet as pick-up crew, lend a hand, become a member but most of all please help support the SBSC.

As a final note, this season is dedicated to the memory of John Alan "The Duke" Yabsley, co-founder of the Santa Barbara Sailing Club and longtime member of the Santa Barbara Yacht Club who passed away at the end of 2007. Thanks Duke. Three cheers and Godspeed.
